Make it in country music - More contacts The type contacts that you need will depend on the type performing that you will do. If your intention is to stay small and in your local area, I suggest that you look for small local promoters. In the Dallas, Texas area for instance there are promoters in each small community surrounding the Metroplex that put on shows in old theater buildings and in schools and churches. Many of these shows are either weekly or monthly and will allow you to perform and sell your CD's or otherwise promote your tours or web site in exchange for your performance. A list of international promoters for American and European tours will be here shortly. If you want to sing professionally, make a list of prominant performers in your genre. Contact one or two of these to get an idea of what they might be looking for in the way of an opening act.
